Russia has sent its crack special troops into Syria to back up President Bashar al-Assad’s bid to wipe out his opposition.
Vladimir Putin’s feared Spetsnaz unit and a covert para battalion ghosted into the war-torn country and are preparing for an all-out assault on rebels fighting the regime – including moderate units such as the western-backed Free Syrian Army.
A military source said last night: “Putin’s marines are there to guard the airbases they are using against sabotage by rebels. But Spetsnaz and air-assault troops are not there to provide security to static objects, they are extremely aggressive and highly trained.
“They are there to mop up after air strikes, call in air strikes, go on extremely covert missions against rebels and ultimately wipe them out.

Wow…sounds like Putin knows exactly what he’s doing. He will own the Middle East when this is over. Obama should go down in history as the WORST US PRESIDENT, who lost the Middle East that consumed far too many lives of men much better than he is and cost the taxpayers of this country trillions of dollars during our economic depression.

The USA will pay a steep price for letting Putin become the power broker in the Middle East. Between Russia and the Middle East they control about 50% of the world’s oil production. I do not see a good ending to this situation.
But then that is the price Americans will pay for electing an incompetent community organizer to be President.

Now Putin is getting serious about Syria (Leslie Nielson, please forgive me). And I’m Shirley not jesting.
Using the Spetnaz troops and the paratroopers, basically fresh from their covert war in the Ukraine, is a sign of how serious Putin is taking the ISIS threat. However, as some have pointed out, he will also go after Assad’s non-extremist opposition.
In Putin’s eyes (and those of Assad), anyone who opposes the dictator is a threat that has to be neutralized.
Given Soviet tactics in Chechnya, it will be a brutal war which will make Sherman’s March to the Sea thru Georgia seem like a Girl Scout picnic.
Obama will turn out to be the big loser here (and America but Obama doesn’t give a crap about America, only his legacy - A Legend in His Own Mind). Israel will also be in much more danger with the Russian Bear on their border and with significant air assets in the region.
