In a series of online postings over a decade, the mother of the gunman who opened fire on classmates at Umpqua Community College in Oregon said she kept numerous firearms in her home and opened up about her difficulties raising a troubled son who used to bang his head against the wall.
All the while the mother, Laurel Margaret Harper, expressed hope that her son, Christopher Harper-Mercer, could lead a successful life in finance or as a filmmaker. Instead, Mr. Harper-Mercer, 26, took his own life after shooting nine others to death and wounding several others during a campus rampage last week.
Answering a question about state gun laws several years ago, Ms. Harper, a registered nurse, took a jab at “lame states” that impose limits on keeping loaded firearms in the home, and noted that she had AR-15 and AK-47 semiautomatic rifles, along with a Glock handgun. She also indicated that her son, who lived with her, was well versed in guns, citing him as her source of information on gun laws, saying he “has much knowledge in this field.”
“I keep two full mags in my Glock case. And the ARs & AKs all have loaded mags,” Ms. Harper wrote. “No one will be ‘dropping’ by my house uninvited without acknowledgement.”

Has this woman never heard of a hidden wall safe?

Pretty much nails the respectability of both those careers, eh?
Now we know who bought the other guns.

The story is quite clear and yet is being ignored by the Progressives.
Almost all of these mass killers have announced to the world their mental illness. Once upon a time we have put them away to protect the populace from their lunacy. Moreover, pronouncements of “gun free zones” provide a safe environment for these deranged souls to carry out there diabolical fantasies.
When are we going to put a stop to this progressive delusion.
A wall-banger? That lady was fortunate indeed she was not shot in her bed as she slept.
The boy warn’t right, he just a bad seed. Mama knew it, and could not bring herself to take the necessary steps.
Asperger’s syndrome can be controlled, if caught and directed early, but there never is much social maturation. The patient needs a highly structured environment, always being kept to a specific few tasks, which, by rote, become ingrained and sometimes result in a degree of obsessive-compulsive behavior. It may look odd, but this is really much less harmful than letting the otherwise largely uncontrolled id run loose.
Mommy dearest needs to be held responsible. She’s a nurse and didn’t realize her son was too ill to be around weapons? She needs to lose her license at a minimum.
I was just going to post that.
This one is worse, she was in the health care field. She knew what her head-banger son might do.

It sounds like she thought his troubles were behind him. She also sounds like a good conservative Republican!
If she’s been advising others parents of autistic/Asperger’s children, she should now add: “Monitor their social media.” Too bad it’s too late for the good people of Roseburg.
When facts do not matter, any story sounds good.
I am so pleased to now know her son was a financial genius.
I am still waiting to hear who bought the 13 or 14 guns her brilliant son supposedly possessed.

But the Lame Stream Media is still dragging their feet on posting info as to who the gun purchaser is-—

I’m shocked that the NYT went there. The mother seems to have been off-limits to the press.
As far as I can tell, the press has yet to report that mom - and therefore her son - are black. And the only reason I care about that is that the press has described the shooter as a “white supremacist.”
Are they still claiming the black kid who targeted Christians is a right winger?
