Leading House Democrats want the committee dissolved following GOP Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's suggestion that the investigative unit is trying to undercut Clinton's presidential campaign
Casting it as a partisan witch hunt dedicated to destroying her career, Clinton accused the committee - which discovered her private email server - of trying to 'exploit' the deaths of the deaths of four Americans killed in a September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Libya.
The Democratic presidential candidate said she'd appear before the committee on October 22, as scheduled, when asked by Today's Savannah Guthrie about the investigative unit - if it's 'still running' by then.
'Now that they have admitted it was a political partisan committee for the sole purpose of going after me, not trying to make our diplomats who serve in dangerous areas safe, that's up to the Congress,' she said of Democrats' calls for the committee to be disbanded.
Clinton came at McCarthy and his fellow House Republicans hard this morning in an interview with Guthrie and said, 'This committee was set up, as they have admitted, for the purpose of making a partisan political issue out of the deaths of four Americans.'
'I would have never done that,' she added.
A former first lady, Clinton said, she's been in politics for a long time, 'but some things are just beyond the pale.'
The former secretary of state's role in the Benghazi attack has been the subject of seven previous investigations, all of which cleared her of wrongdoing, she pointed out this morning.

Always a “witch hunt” when they catch a democrat destroying evidence.

Hillary is going through the stages of grief from watching her presidential bid die.
The next stage is Bargaining.
I don’t think this whole thing is such a big deal.
So what if the Benghazi committee has affected Hitlery’s poll numbers? Shouldn’t it?
This does not mean the committee was formed for that purpose - it just means that people are realizing she’s a liar and can’t be trusted.

Yeah. McCarthy did more to rescue Hillary than Hillary did to rescue Stevens.
Mostly this shows why McCarthy doesn’t deserve speakership.
