I can’t get through the fire wall to read the article, but the headline contradicts my experience with US nuclear plants. Cyber security is taken very seriously.

Why does a nuke plant need access to the world?

Why are their computers even connected to the outside world?
A stand alone system that has no hard wire, wireless, or any other means of connecting to the net, seems to be the safest and best solution me.
Don’t know that much about it, but even here at home I have this system for outside communications; and a stand alone PC for personal records, farm records, and other info I don’t want other people to access.

I just completed NANTeL training on cyber security (both generic and site specific). Yes, it is taken very seriously.

Yes, it happens. But calling it a "culture of denial" is unwarranted.

Their networks are as firewalled as top secret networks at defense contractors.
You can’t hack a nuclear power plant via the standard internet connection or even DDOS.
