We need to remove this man from the presidency. He does not understand our constitution, our basic freedoms and our liberties.

Now THATS how you respond to these tyrants.

Idiotic federal laws is what makes it easier for lunatics to slaughter defenseless citizens.

The last thing this town needs is Obama and his massive ears to cast a shadow on freedom loving people in Oregon.

Mr. Jaques best get his financial affairs in order. There’s likely a comprehensive IRS audit in his near future (as a result, of course, of a random selection of taxpayer filings ... hah!)

Democrats killed logging in rural Oregon. No wonder they don’t want Obama coming around to exploit this situation

Well anti-Christian half whites are not in vogue, I will invoke my sarcasm tag on this comment.

That’s my childhood county seat. Good to hear. Unfortunately the rest of the state’s idiots overshadows sanity in this small part.

I would absolutely LOVE to see a small town (or any town) block the roads and refuse entry to the pResident. If he attempted to get in they should egg his car.

David Jaques, the publisher of the conservative newspaper the Roseburg Beacon,

I dunno. Is this an influential guy, or just a loud-mouth lout with a weak internet "paper"?

Bravo to the town. And prayers for them in this tragedy.

More gun laws would not have prevented this. Maybe some kind of law where two close family members or friends, interviewed deeply and separately like persons of interest are, can report on someone’s insanity and get a 14 day institutional hold for people who might be dangerous. It would take a good two weeks of observation to even begin to pick out these guys. 72 hours is way too short. Something like this is desperately needed. The requirements must be STRINGENT to keep people from putting away sane innocent people, but this is so necessary in society right now.

Half of everyone over 85 has Alzheimer’s. A lot of people in their 70s have it. People with Alzheimer’s are not sane. They can harm their caregiving family members. I know a woman who was trapped with her abusive (he didn’t know he was) Alzheimers spouse who was hitting her and trying to kill her. Yet he fooled the police every time. She had him put in the hospital for a short stay to be checked out and he PASSED their tests. She is now at a relative’s because she was too afraid for her safety, waiting for him, alone and unable to care for himself, to mess up enough to get the help and supervision he needs. THIS SCENARIO WILL BE HAPPENING EVEN MORE THAN SCHOOL SHOOTERS.

We need to protect the innocent. We need a way to help the mentally incompetent be lovingly cared for and protect their families. Even among the young school shooters, often a family member is among the victims.

He just wants face time so he can say how that mussie shooter was misunderstood and how bad his upbringing was in order to murder 13 people. Wasn’t the guys fault.
