I believe that photography has trained my eye to see beauty in things I would have never noticed otherwise. Some of my best photos were taken not 20 feet from my front door. Photos that capture a moment of breathtaking beauty are like treasures. I believe photography has given me "eyes to see."
It doesn't mean that some things are better experienced sans camera. . .but I think its not an either/or decision.

your perceptions re seeing are near identical to my own.
To that I would add that when I upgraded from an 8? mpx camera to a 21 mpx camera...I started to see more detail...in the world around me.
I first saw the increased detail on my monitor...and then began to notice a rather drastic increase of detail in the “physical world”.
simple. is elegant..not in the modern stylistic sense of course but there is an authentic elegance in simplicity that I have a great appreciation for.

I believe photography has given me "eyes to see." Learning to draw or paint will do the same thing, only different. :-)
