It was a sight to warm the cockles of my heart: students proudly wearing “American flag capes, American flag headbands, American flag shorts and all manner of beautifully and garishly patriotic American flag ornamentation” in defiance of their principal, who canceled “America Pride Day” the day before.
The Daily Caller picked up on a report in the local Jackson Hole News & Guide:
Jackson Hole High principal Scott Crisp blamed the results of a student survey and his concerns that some students may feel excluded if they see an American flag for the administration’s decision to cancel “America Pride Day.”
The potentially "excluded" students would mostly be Mexican immigrants.
The Jackson Hole High 2015-16 school profile webpage and other Teton district webpages offer the opportunity to translate text into a single alternative language: Spanish.
Jackson Hole High activities director (and assistant principal) Mike Hansen said he favored canceling “America Pride Day” because some students may not feel American and, thus, could feel “targeted and singled out by this day.”
Ahem: if you choose to come to this country, get used to national pride. Get citizenship and join in, as so many immigrants have done over our history. If you are offended or feel excluded, feel free to leave.

Blamed the ‘survey’. Sack up there principal. YOU cancelled the “America Pride Day”. Screw a bunch folks who ‘may’ feel excluded. It’s our country, not theirs. Of course you’ll probably have no problem celebrating “stink de piehole”. (aka Cinco de Mayo) Hopefully the kids staged their mass disobedience for the right reasons.
Wouldn’t canceling the event exclude some students?

Well, if they don’t want to feel “excluded”, what’s keeping them from joining in and celebrating America? Hmmmm? Last I checked, this IS America, not Mexico. If they are not comfortable with America, maybe they should leave.
Teddy Roosevelt said assimilation is key to being an American. If you assimilate you will never feel left out. Unfortunately that word is apparently no longer in the American vocabulary.
Have not been to Jackson Hole in 35 years. At that time it was overwhelmingly a cowboy town and tourist gate to southern Yellowstone.
Has it lost it’s local, cowboy atmosphere?
Until they are fired, Principal Scott Crisp and Assistant Principal Mike Hansen have turned the school into Jackass Hole High School.
If these morons running the so called “schools” can’t be proud of America, it might be time to shut off all AMERICAN tax dollars to fund their commie sewers. If someone is offended by the American flag, they need to get their goat-smelling ass out of my country and go home where they won’t be “offended”. It’s not rocket science. As long as there are still Americans in this country, we have just as much right to be proud as the homosexuals have to be sexual deviants.
Looks like the school is 71% white, 24% Mexican.

I think it would be a great idea if the principal would get ALOT of messages from FReepers, telling him what they think of his idiocy.
With respect to this “principal”, he is proof (if any is needed) that a degree in “Education” comes from the opposite side of the cereal box that has a offer for “Wonyn’s Studies” degrees.

But these same Marxist “leaders” will be only too happy to sponsor a Cinco de Mayo Celebration on campus and not be worried in the least if it “offends” the true citizens who attend. I can’t wait to see what they do in Jackson Hole when the first mosque opens up in a couple of years. The dune coons will probably demand a cessation in Elk hunting. Just wonder on which side Jerry Spence will work.

If I were a parent in that district, I would be organizing to get the principal to go bye bye. Let the jerk go to Afganistan, Syria, or the DNC to peddle his Liberalism and his demonstrated dislike for his county.

I would assume they have an American Flag flying in front of the school...I hope so..
