You believe in the carrot, I believe in the stick We have tried the carrot. it is time for the stick.

These children are rarely ‘better off’ with their teenage biological mother.

I’m betting Asians make more than Whites. Whenever we travel down to Koreatown in Dallas it looks like a foreign luxury car dealership in the parking lots.

Most people born in Asia have saving habits that are far higher than that of Americans.... often around 20-30 percent of all income. Americans are usually under 6 percent.

And a lot of them are business owners or professionals, not wage slaves.

There are SO few gays in society, generally, that it would be nigh on impossible to ascertain that number.

I can assure you that finding a statistically valid sample of male homosexuals in San Francisco would not be a problem.

You got the reason.
Rents.
High rents are driving the working class out, such as black people who disproportionately work lower paying jobs, leaving fixed income retirees (who benefit from rent control) plus those living in public housing. SF still has a lot of old style projects.

Do San Francisco’s blacks report their income from illegal drug sales?

I disagree. My parents were very young and imperfect. Through all sorts of bumps in the road, there is no possible way I would have preferred a different home even if better in some ways. One time things were so bad that we even toured a children’s home. I still remember the trauma of even the thought of such a thing. You have no idea what you are wanting to curse these children with.

So you would either stick the kids in institutions or have them starving and begging in the streets?

I do not know what the incentive should be. I think much of that was addressed with welfare reform. I am just saying that some of the cold solutions offered on this thread would merely make things worse — maybe different, but worse.

The undermining of acknowledging man’s duty to his God, of discriminating against the practice of religion, of reversing the definitions of what is right and what is wrong, of making immorality a constitutional right and morality a thing to be shunned and scorned, of treating moral and religion beliefs as though they are extreme (except terrorism, the left loves Islam) and as though they are inferior, etc......all of that has been killing the development of individual conscience, which in turn kills our fitness for freedom.

I certainly wouldn't allow people to breed kid after kid all the while sucking on the gov. i.e. taxpayer teat. The kids would be sent to institutions and (hopefully) the females sterilized.

For crying out loud look at the state of most black kids in big cities and tell me being with their families (i.e. their mother with no father) is better than going to an institution where at least they learn some discipline. But if the welfare rug was pulled out from these witless women, there wouldn't be as many feral kids to take care of by the state.

If I'm going to have my tax money wasted on these parasites, at least I want some control over things. Enough is enough.

You advocate too much government control for my taste. Institutions and forced sterilizations cost money. Plus it is all anti freedom. The parents may make mistakes but why punish the children over it? The cost is probably not much different caring for the children in their own homes versus funding their care in institutions. The difference to the child is enormous — excluding abusive situations. But you are talking not about abuse but about punishing the parents.

The cures for these societal woes are in the realm of religion and morality and strong families. Beyond that you use carrots, for the sake of the children as much as the parents. Crimes are for punishment. These are not crimes but rather moral failures. Believe me if you institutionalize these kids or place them in immoral situations that now have state approval, you are not going to find future generations that behave any better.

To be honest, I find your ideas scary and cruel.

Yes, your PARENTS as in two.

I am talking about unwed mothers, specifically teenage mothers, with no male role models in the home.

I have every knowledge of the fact that most infants in single mother teenage homes would be better off in an institution than with their birth mother in the inner city.

Most infants and young toddlers would easily be placed in two parent homes and get adopted by intact families. Cursing children to single teen mother homes is nothing short of child abuse leading to welfare, substance abuse and a life of dependence.

Any cursory readings of the effects on, particularly male offspring, of single mother homes especially those headed by women who are under twenty one, will show that the best course of action to break the cycle of poverty is to remove these children from these homes.

The added bonus to society is that we will no longer give a perverse incentive to be an unwed mother. The type of damage done to these children and to society as a whole by these mothers far outwieghs any mild benefit that a child might ‘feel’ being with their birth mother.

We pay for this as a society. One unwed mother costs society tens of thousands of dollars a year for each child she has. We pay even further when we factor in the lost lives that follow so many of these children throughout their futures. The drug dependence, the lack of education, the future generations of one parent households and the massive level of crime, imprisonment and cultural rot that inevitably comes from a society of bastard babies.

As a society we not only have the right, but the responsibility to give that child every opportunity to not repeat the expensive and life altering mistakes that their mother has made. The best chance for that outcome is to force responsibility in the beginning. Even to the point of permanent removal from the home.

No sale. You want to punish the mothers because they cannot flee like the father can. And you would still make collateral damage of the children.

No sale. No sale. No sale......

Your idea would elevate abortion as the optimal solution to avoid your severe punishments.

There is no sale to be made. The actual numbers are in.

Unwed teenage mothers create a cycle of poverty, welfare dependence and crime. We as a society are obliged to break that cycle.

The best way to do that is to create punishments and not incentives. History has shown me right and you a, bleeding heart liberal, wrong.

As for abortions, they are legal due to court nonsense. Regardless, we still are obliged to think of the best of the child and society as a whole. That means togh love on the unwed mother.

Abortion is already sold as an optimal solution.

I told you that the SURVEY method, which would be used, is simply not valid. We are talking statistically, not conversationally. Validity is mathematical and therefore not at the mercy of convenience or social observation. "Social" validity is simply what the pundits put out. It's "valid" enough for most of the population, but doesn't mean anything statistically.

What is so odd for me is that, with their general acceptance by the population, many have LEFT the city for smaller cities, small towns and such, much like their own roots.
So, this town has many fewer homosexuals of both genders. Entire neighborhoods have transformed. I see young, white, heterosexual couples with baby carriages. It's an odd, but most welcome site.
