The only gun store in San Francisco is shuttering for good, saying it can no longer operate in the citys political climate of increased gun control regulations and vocal opposition to its business.
Its with tremendous sadness and regret that I have to announce we are closing our shop, High Bridge Arms manager Steve Alcairo announced in a Facebook post on Sept. 11. It has been a long and difficult ride, but a great pleasure to be your last San Francisco gun shop.
Alcairo said the breaking point came this summer when a local politician proposed a law that would require High Bridge Arms to video record every gun sale and submit a weekly report of ammunition sales to the police. If passed, the law would join several local gun control ordinances on the books in a city still scarred by the 1993 murder of eight in a downtown high-rise and the 1978 assassination of Mayor George Moscone and gay rights activist Harvey Milk.
Im not doing that to our customers. Enough is enough, Alcairo said. Buying a gun is a constitutionally protected right. Our customers shouldnt be treated like theyre doing something wrong.

Let’s see that chart of all the “gun free zones” and comparing the safety record of freedom zones vs. “gun-free zones”. Think an updated version of that chart should be sent to the media and the President on a regular basis.
He should relocate to someplace an hour or so outside of San Sodomcisco
That city doesn’t deserve a gun store.
As reputable dealers are driven out of business, look for ordinarily law abiding citizens to acquirw firearms from the black market. The libs will have, in effect, turned the law abiding into criminals
Well golly gee....I guess there will never be another gun crime in SF. /s
That city doesnt deserve a gun store.
No, they don’t.
Like Fairfield or Vacaville. There are good gun stores in both cities.
Aaron Rodger’s fault.
If I were a Jihadi this would be my nuke list.
1. DC.
2. NYC.
3. Boston.
4. Chicago.
5. Seattle.
6. San Francisco.
7. LA.
Just sayin’.
We need some Politician Free Zones.
It’s a great idea! Now the criminals won’t be able to get guns.
Early in Obamas reign, we had a local gun shop remodel their building. They put the entry door on a different side of the building, resulting the the Post Office changing their street address.
The Feds immediately yanked their license and they were never able to get it back. It’s now a grocery store.
Good we have a city now that is gunfree, criminals unite and descend upon a city without arms to protect itself.
nope, I would use a 1 foot ruler and purchase land within that measurement of the city limits to open my new gun store. I would advertise heavily on local media and offer 15% discounts to every customer who show I.D. that he/she was a Frisco resident. Two can play that game.
This store owner is named Al-Cairo,
If the LAST shop closes, and buying across lines is ‘illegal’, how is the political culture (IE: ‘Law’) thus not infringing upon the 2nd A Rights of the Citizens of CA??
Course, I’ve not over-educated myself to a mind of mush, and my bread isn’t buttered by those in the capital, and my Life isn’t secured by armed guards and/or ‘exemptions’ from the existing Law(s), and....
Why would they do that? Extirpating those cancers would make the US stronger...
Steve Alcairo
