The American Civil Liberties Union has sued a Catholic health care provider for refusing to provide abortions. They claim Trinity Health Corporation has violated federal law by “refusing to provide pregnant women suffering emergency medical conditions with abortions necessary to stabilize them”.
The 86 hospitals that fall under the corporation are required to abide by “Directive 45” which states abortion is never permitted.
In June, U.S. District Judge Robert Holmes Bell dismissed a similar ACLU lawsuit against Trinity Health. He ruled federal courts have no jurisdiction over hospital policy and that patients who believed they received inadequate care should file a malpractice suit.
In a statement, Trinity Health said the case is without merit. But one Catholic priest believes the ACLU is just trying to further their agenda with the lawsuit.
“The ACLU wants no religious view to get in the way of their objectives,” said Father Jonathan Morris, in a Fox News Interview.

Where does the aCLU get its “standing”. Were they denied an abortion? The judge needs to throw these homos out on their asses.
The ACLU is an enemy of the state.
While an organization like that could have merit, it only shoots for anti U.S. and anti-Christian cases where it can destroy.
It really needs to cease to exist.
The use of “standing” appears primarily available for use only by those cloaked in black robes - especially of federal persuasion; particulary those on the supreme team.
Can the hospitals counter-sue ACLU for the mental/emotional distress over the possibility of being forced to commit murder?
The ACLU was founded to advance Marxist principles. It has NOT changed its constitution or its objectives. Don’t be surprised at anything they do. In addition, due to the perversion of the laws they get recompensed for their costs in bringing law suits, win or lose. Talk about a government that is devoted to beating up on its own citizens.
The persecution is ramping up.
Oregon and now this. Get ‘em with bullets or sue them into bankruptcy.
I wouldn’t be surprised.
Those funds should be known.
I think they are intent on two things.
Destroy our nation
Destroy Christianity within it
What can we do to counter these atheist/communists in their quest to destroy America? Why and who are funding these corrupt lawyers? What has the ACLU accomplished to make the USA a better place for all of us?
You can ask your Representative to initiate a Congressional Investigation of the ACLU. You can do so by contacting your representative's local office and making a formal request for them to do so. They will at least owe you a formal reply as to what action (if any) they've taken.
Ask them to answer the questions you've asked above. And maybe think of a few more to add to your list. If we all took this simple step, not only on this matter, but other issues that concern us as conservatives, it will remind them of who they really work for.
They don’t care if they lost, I suspect. The want to punish these people. So they will sue and sue and sue until they break them. Same as homo issues. Same as Boy Scouts. Liberals have many groups whose sole aim is to sue into submission and confiscate property (money) while they control ideology.

The hospital should file a countersuit demanding that the ACLU suit be declare frivolous and demand lawyers fees and triple damages for filing a frivolous law suit.
I seem to remember that the Obamacare was demanding that a monastery, (men only and celibate at that) provide it's members and employees (also male) with access to abortions.
They should have started easier, like suing a transmission place for not fixing a flat tire.
