Speaker John Boehner is considering delaying the internal election for House majority leader and majority whip, leaving only the party vote for speaker to be decided on Thursday, according to multiple Republican sources with direct knowledge of the deliberations.
Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) is circulating a letter requesting a delay in the elections for the No. 2 and No. 3 slots in leadership. There is also widespread interest in considering a change in internal party rules that would force candidates to resign chairmanships and leadership slots to run for new office. There is serious unrest in the House Republican Conference, and delaying the elections might give more time for the mood to settle, according to sources involved in the planning.

Good, need this to be true.
McCarthy BETTER NOT be Speaker!!
Yes...Chaffets removed Meadows’ subcommittee chairmanship.....

Before he reinstated him.....

I’m wondering if Chaffets is the Plan B for the GOPe, since they know how disliked McCarthy - their chosen heir - is.
I’m thinking the same way or to divide the vote and get the GOP-E in as the Speaker.
Boner still has not figure out why he is not wanted...
Probably GOOD.
I think it means that
“ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS”
DO NOT HAVE THE VOTES
TO MAINTAIN THEIR HOLD
ON POWER!

I think your comment NAILS IT!
We can predict with certainty that all three outcomes will be sordid.
that is bad. Where do we turn now?
The conservatives did want the elections delayed. But that was before McCarthy messed up.
Don’t know who it benefits now.
At least it shows the Dem/RINOs are having to change their plans.
that is bad. Where do we turn now?
Who is the conservative willing to put his/her hat into the ring?
We need to coalesce around that person....on ALL social media, phone calls, faxes, forums, etc....and get the word out.
I definitely don't favor that. Though it would mean McCarthy would be out of Maj leader if he loses Speaker.
As for the delay, Bonehead must be worried about the outcome of those potential races.
He talked about that today on FNC. Apparently Meadows boot was from the Speaker, but after a closed door meeting with a bunch of others, he recended the boot, which probably really pissed Boner.
Chaffetz seems to be reasonable and mostly conservative, much more so that McCarthy, especially considering no one else has their hat in the ring. One big point in his favor is that nobama has tried to undermine him with the Secret Service thing.
I’m sure about Chaffetz because of the Meadows removal.
McCarthy would be just another Boehner targeting Conservatives.
VACATE. THE. CHAIR. NOW.
I am hearing that Dan Webster is still in the running. Anyone think he has a chance? Maybe he can’t pull in enough support.
