In a staggering twist of logic, the father of Umpqua Community College killer Christopher Harper-Mercer is blaming guns, rather than his son, for the bloody killing spree that ended with nine innocent people dead.

In an interview with CNN, Ian Mercer claims he doesn’t blame guns, then spends much of the interview refuting that assertion. Mercer does not indicate that he believes his son was solely responsible for the massacre.

I think it's a mistake to place too much emphasis on this alleged manipulated photo. Of more interest to me is the fact that - early on - the media put out several vague and utterly contradictory characterizations of the shooter, e.g., a conservative Republican, white supremacist, multi-racial, anti-religious, anti-government, wanting to meet a pagan female, hates black men, supports Black Lives Matter, and so forth.

Since then, the sources for most of those characterizations have apparently been scrubbed, and the media have seemingly lost interest in any details about the shooter's background. If the shooter were REALLY a white supremacist Republican, the media would be digging into his past in great detail. Moreover, some media outlets are either ignoring or denying that the shooter specifically targeted Christians.

The media have also refrained from questioning the mother's apparent lack of responsibility in allowing her disturbed son to possess a cache of weapons. Quite possibly, the media do not ask about this because any inquiries about the mother will inevitably lead to public awareness of her racial identity, which would muddle the image that the media are trying to create concerning the shooter and his motives. Instead, the debate almost immediately moved on to a discussion of guns and gun laws.

What this suggests to me is that the media do not want the real facts about the shooter's background to come out until impressions have been formed and the public loses interest. In other words, they want to establish a false narrative about the shooter.

It’s a great idea, and I pray that will happen. It’s highly unlikely that the truth about the photo fix will ever be heard considering that the MSM is Hussein’s propaganda machine. The American people are so manipulated and nobody really stands up for us.

Maybe it’ll be picked up by Trump, Rush, O’Reilly, Kelley, etc. As much as I hate O’Reilly and Kelley, they do have large viewing audiences...
