Chuck Todd essentially lied with his dismissive comment that we’ve never had GDP growth rates in the 6% range. We did under Reagan. I had trouble finding a link but if memory serves me correctly, we had a 6.9% growth rate in 1984. We may have used GNP back then, but the two are very similar.
