All it would take to make criminals out of all of us is for five out of nine politically appointed lawyers on the Supreme Court to decide that the American people have no rights under the Second Amendment to keep and bear arms.
That would prove to be unhealthy for those justices.
That doesn’t make us criminals, it makes the federal government illegitimate and time for the sovereign to deal with the wayward servant.
All it would take is for the right case to come before SCOTUS wherein they can declare what many read as a Right, is really a Privilege and as such is revoked.
This scenario is not as odd as it sounds, as they have declared 3x that only Treaty Tribes have Rights - such as the 2nd Amendment - while all others - you and me - have mere Privilege which can be revoked at any given time.
So yes, it is legally conceivable that SCOTUS could make a Federal attempt at confiscation a reality.
