This story doesn't tell us anything we do not already know. Its significance lies only in the identity of the confidant who is anonymously quoted in the article. My guess is that he is Lanny Davis and, if so, this is not a leak but a plant.

It might well be that Hillary is adopting a new strategy outlined in the article as being recommended by the anonymous confidant which is an attempt to begin to portray Hillary more sympathetically as someone who has simply been caught up by events etc.

If so, it means that the Clinton campaign has become more concerned about the crimes than the campaign. Hillary is in a box, if she ignores the crimes and pursues the campaign she invites the anger of the federal prosecutors. If she panders to the prosecutors and admits some sort of misstep, if not actual crime, she could forfeit the campaign. If she forfeits the campaign, she loses her leverage to evade the crime.

I'm pretty sure the FBI National Security Division and the Federal Prosecutors are not concerned about how she is portrayed in the media.

I'm thinking this is even more dangerous for Hillary when her traditional allies are turning on her.

Ultimately, they were Bill's people and I believe their loyalty has faded in regards to Hillary.

And, when the FBI and Federal prosecutors put Cheryl Mills and Huma under the hot lights, with proof they committed felonies with a minimum 10 year sentence, I'm certain, certain they will give up Hillary for any and every crime they can recollect.

I suspect that before Bill’s term expired, he took out White House Stationary and wrote a blanket pardon for himself and Hillary, for every offense in the past and future.

A quick meeting with the FBI will let them know they cannot prosecute her and it will drop.
