Has Putin now started bombing ISIS? All of the media reports were that he was targeting the so-called “moderate” rebels that also fight ISIS and Assad and generally leaving ISIS alone, with the primary mission appearing to be to back up the Assad regime.

Why am I starting to get the feeling WE (or our government at least) are the bad guys, and the Russians are the good guys?

Aren’t all the govts in question decidedly islamocentric now?

And populated with practitioners?

That’s the main problem IMO.

Putin just keeps looking better and better all the time.
Not too late to draft him for President of the US?
(Oh, HELL! Do I HAFTA include the < /sarcasm > tag?)

With what's been allowed to go on on this site of late, YES. Putin's trolls are crawling out from under the woodwork. There are people posting that I don't remember seeing here before, all gushing praise for the KGB thug like he's the new messiah.

Russia coming to the rescue to take out ISIS is like the Mafia moving out a violent street gang from your neighborhood, then setting up base there. Russia will grow wealthier, more powerful, and more aggressive in their expansionist aims in Eastern Europe and elsewhere.

Obama was probably ineffectual on taking on ISIS *intentionally* in order that Russia had a reason to move in and eventually take control of the Middle East. They are two birds of feather, Obama and Putin, both sharing the same basic new international order vision. ie, a weak US, and a strong Russia and China. Meanwhile, he and John Fonda Kerry carry on as if they're genuinely upset over what's going on.

Your theory makes no sense. Obama looks like a massive fool worldwide right now.

How come you think someone loves Putin every time a jihadist dies? I don’t care who kills them. I just clap.

Some do....no question some see Putin as worse than Daesh....I don’t....mark Levin will hate me

My son did a paper in 10th grade on Franco as the bulwark against Commies and preserving the church in Spain

Even his lib teacher gave him an A plus

Your nick reminded me

They both need to go. Like I said, it's like the Mafia and a violent street gang. Great that the Mob gets rid of them, but then look what you're stuck with afterwards when they set up base in the neighborhood. Understand yet?

I get it, I just don’t care who runs Syria. It’s been a Russian concern for 50 years. As long as ISIS gets slaughtered I’m good.

Even WSJ today claimed he’s hitting Daesh

50 or more sorties

More than we do in two weeks historically

By 'neighborhood' I meant the Middle East, not just Syria. Russia is tight with Iran. Iran is about to take over Iraq. There are a lot of valuable resources and strategic geographical positions to be used to Russia's advantage should/when they move to take other countries in the Middle East, also Eastern Europe.

Russia is also tighter with the ChiComs than they've ever been, conducting annual war games since 2005, and building a major seaport together. All with the obvious intent to counter the US and its NATO allies. The ChiComs, with Russia support, are looking to expand as well.

You are making a great argument for rebuilding our military. Making me sad that Puty-Poot is bombing ISIS, not so much.

Levin seems way off in his assessment of what’s going on. He seems to ignore or be unaware of Russia’s 60 year association with the Assad family and Syria. As well as the importance to Russia of their lone Mediterranean naval base at Tarsus.

Putin wasn’t going to sit back idly as we engineered Assad’s overthrow.

None of us even know what Barky is up to in Syria. Is he trying to hand it over to Islamists like he tried to do with Egypt? Or destabilize it like he succeeded in doing to Libya?

In another time his pals on the Left would be howling about America being engaged in an illegal war. Isn’t it interesting how quiet they are. Not a peep out of them about what Barky is doing in Syria.

Obama is playing with fire. Screwing around trying to overthrow a government aligned with a major military power like Russia is a good way to ignite a big war. Maybe the pampered prince got the idea that Putin would roll over like his spineless GOP opponents.

My gut is Levin associates Putin with anti Semitism
Even though not much proof of that

Yesterday make referred to the Jewish Mafiosi oligarchs most of whom Putin purged as industrialists..... I snorted in my diet dr pepper

He does that a lot though he’d never admit I think he views southern reactionaries as anti Semites too

And so forth

Putin is dangerous no question but understands the specialness of western civ

I really like Mark but he needs to get out more

Ditch the Beckian worldview on touchy subjects

I’m sure that’s the case. As good as Mark is he has imbibed some of the neoconservative bigotry against the South. A common theme among the Salem Radio crowd.

That's how I understand it too. Heard it on Sekulow.
