Saying the U.S. needs to provide “moral leadership,” Ohio Gov. John Kasich called on Friday for the establishment of no-fly zones in Syria and again recommended a coalition of ground troops in that nation.
At a news conference in New Hampshire, Kasich said he is worried that Russia’s decision to drop bombs in Syria will exacerbate that nation’s troubles. No-fly zones, he said, are needed to prevent casualties and more refugees.
“You enter that no-fly zone, you enter at your own peril," Kasich said. “No more red lines, no more looking the other way. If any hostile aircraft should enter that, there will be a great consequence to them.”

But I don’t think that would happen. I think President Kasich would call Premier Putin and politely ask Premier Putin to please not fly any of his mean, ol’ nasty warcraft over these “no-fly” zones, and Putin would simply say “OK”. End of story.
Hillary and Carly, who’ve also called for “no-fly” zones before Kascish copycatted them, apparently believe the “polite call to Putin is all that is necessary” theory. Either that, or none of them really care whether they start WWIII or not.

I think we should arm the Kurds to the teeth, bring all the Christians and other non-muslim minorities here, and let the rest fight it out.

Putin is not stupid enough to get into a nuclear exchange with the United States. But he is smart enough to know that now is the time for Russia to take control of the Middle East. America is too weak and too weary to challenge him. We have had a president who has basically allowed the entire Middle East to fall into Chaos and who has weakened our national standing and our national resolve.
We have more oil now than we know what to do with and we don’t need the Middle East oil anymore. There is no strategic purpose to be gained by meddling in Syria and we have now surrendered all of our strength in that region to Iran.
The Middle East will belong to the new Soviet Empire. There’s nothing we can do at this point to stop it. Even if we could, we still have Obama for the next year and a half. That is more time than it took for Hitler to take over all of Europe.
Nah. Vlad would just bvring in S300 and S400 systems - presto chango - a US-free no fly zone.
