Obama says Iran and President Assad represent Russia's entire coalition in Syria

DEVELOPING - President Obama, addressing Soviet intervention in Syria at a White House press conference, said Tuesday Iran and Syria President Bashar Assad represented Russia's entire coalition "and the rest of the world makes up ours."

He also said Washington and Russian leaders are currently having critical "conversations about deconfliction" so that tensions in Syria won't end up with "firefights" in the air between the two sides.

Senior U.S. military leaders and defense officials are debating whether military force should be used to protect Washington-backed Syrian rebels who have come under attack by Russian airstrikes in recent days.

Right now, the military is not authorized to retaliate on the rebels' behalf.

Obama would not say whether he felt Russian President Vladimir Putin had been dishonest in not laying out his intentions in conversations with the White House before launching airstrikes. He said this was a more "overt" effort by Russia and Iran to keep Bashar in power.

"Mr. Putin had to go into Syria not out of strength but out of weakness" to prop up Assad, Obama said.

WTF is he smoking?

It's Obongo's version of Jedi mind control.

He lies, and lies big.

Always.

You Kidding? At least 50% of FR is against any confrontation with Russia or Iran. We get the leaders we deserve.

"...whether military force should be used to protect Washington-backed Syrian rebels who have come under attack by Russian airstrikes in recent days..."

This has gotten so ridiculous. Obama is threatening Russia over their ongoing annihilation of ISIS fighters. Just like he threatened the world that no one dare take out Iran's nuclear facilities with military force (after he made his "deal" with the demons in Tehran). He's a blustering effeminate.

Putin already scorned the never-ending “coalition building” by the US. The world recognizes power and decisiveness much more than it does fairness and consensus.
