Friday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) said presidential candidates and Congress were “complicit” in mass shootings like the one in Oregon yesterday because they are not endorsing and passing gun control laws. Blumenthal said, “My hope is this latest horrific unspeakable tragedy will galvanize the Congress, but more importantly galvanize the American people to demand from Congress it end its complicity, and it is really complicity, in these massacres and 30,000 deaths that occur every year.”

I could not agree more. Every politician who supported laws that attempt to strip away our natural right to self defense and our constitutional right to keep & bear arms should be bounced from office. The people who forced good, right minded and law abiding citizens to disarm in order to participate in a publicly subsidized education should resign.
NRA and other groups should now challenge these gun free zones. The ability to take public money to create a public service but then deny civil rights and constitutional rights in order to use that public service should not be permissible. Abridgment of the 2A should only be allowed under the strictest scrutiny.

The Republicans took back the Senate, with a decent majority, and made really good gains in the House.
In fact, the only politcians I know of who have been held accountable for their stances on the issue are the anti-gun Democrats in Colorado who got themselves recalled for pushing through gun control.

Exactly what additional laws have not yet been enacted or thought of, among the 20,000 already on the books???
