If they enforced the laws on the books then they could not pass new laws that ban firearms altogether. Remember, gun confiscation is not about what they have done to us. It is about what they want to do to us.

How do you make the call? Who is qualified to make the call?

That’s the trick, isn’t it?

But, the Oregon shooter apparently was spouting about it online … but instead of anyone reporting it, others egged him on. The church shooter’s roommate had some idea of the powder keg about to explode there … but he chose not to say anything.

Billy Ferry’s family begged local law enforcement to Baker Act their son. They refused. He committed one of the most heinous crimes I’ve ever heard of. (See link.)

If police ran around arresting people who said incredible ill-advised things on line they’d be very busy. I also understand why people don’t say anything. The police come and question the person and he usually knows who said something. The police leave and now that person is in the crosshairs.

Probably a huge percentage of threats are never acted on. My personal view is, if I get threatened I believe it. For years I had my very own stalker, a married man living next door. His behavior was bizarre. Although I had hours of video of him coming onto my property, coming home during the day just so he could drive up my driveway several times, the DA said, “Men don’t stalk men.” They refused to prosecute. I moved 40 miles away and he continued to occasionally sit in front of my house (apparently masturbating.) I got a license to carry concealed and I carry everywhere. Finally, he started stalking the people who bought my house. They sold out in six months at a huge loss. Then he went after the next people. I haven’t seen him in years. But I stay current in my shooting abilities.

I said something and the sheriff made it much worse. They showed him my video and simply told him to stop doing it. Needless to say that really set him off. He knew they wouldn’t do anything and I guess having them involved made it more exciting.

...sensible gun control measures...

Yet those "sensible measures" aren't spelled out anywhere, by any advocates.

Yes, by all means, let’s have sensible gun control.

Start by repealing the 1934 National Firearms Act and the 1968 Gun Control Act, finish by repealing Title 18, Section 92(o), and do an encore by eliminating the BATFE (alcohol, tobacco and firearms would make for a nice convenience store, but hasn’t worked out well as a government agency).

I’d also like it if the statist, tyrant-wannabees like Cankles would at least be honest and tell us that they want universal civilian disarmament. Just for ONCE, tell people what you REALLY mean and want.

Oh, and in the case of She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Mentioned, I’d like her and her philandering semi-husband to set an example (that’s what leaders do, right?) by giving up their Secret Service protection and any guns that they own. Do that for 6 months or a year - REALLY do it - and then we’ll talk.

Someone throw a bucket of water on her.

I would love to hear her say “I’m melting, I’m melting”.

Post of the year, if not the decade!

JimRob, we MUST have a series of awards for post of the week, month, year and decade, with a proper nominating process. PRICELESS material like this must not be lost with the passage of time, it has to be preserved forever.

She said "sensible," you mean-old right-wing savages! How can you oppose such common-sense measures to protect our children?
