HAMBURG TO SEIZE EMPTY COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES FOR MIGRANT HOUSING

Hamburg has become the first German city to pass a law allowing the state to seize empty commercial properties for reuse as emergency migrant accommodation. The move comes as more violence is reported in refugee centres across the country.

Called the “Law for the protection of refugees in accommodation facilities ” the legislation was passed last night, just 24-hours after some 200 Syrian and Afghan refugees clashed in a crowded refugee centre in the city, leaving four people injured in the third such riot this week.

When the Muslims trash the place will Hamburg pay for the repairs? I wonder if the 3rd Amendment would prevent this from happening here?

Not just ‘government property’ anymore. Soon it will be private housing as well. And homeowners with ‘too many spare rooms’ will be ‘compelled’ to trade with ‘refugee’ families.

Actually, another poster pointed out that the 3rd amendment specifically prohibits the quartering of soldiers. One would assume US soldiers, not those of the Caliphate. So no, the 3rd amendment wouldn’t protect us from this in the US.

A good take-away from this is that people don’t need protection from muslims as much as they need protection from their own governments..
Here in the US, as the tenets of the Constitution fall away, one by one, so go our ability to be free.

I would burn my property to the ground before I let them take it for these invaders.

Or I could spread pig blood all over it instead.

The 5th Amendment does apply, however.

Meaning that the government would have to seize the property under eminent domain, pay a fair market value for it, and have it be subjected to due process of law.

So could it happen? Yes. Will it happen? Unlikely - it would end up being much cheaper and more efficient for the government to buy a boatload of RV trailers and set them up on public lands.

They can turn the old Aldis into a mosque, put the altar right where the bacon and sausage cooler used to be.

We’ll see. I have my doubts that ‘refugees’ would be happy in RV trailers though. So government would do whatever would make the ‘refugees’ happy and let the homeowner sort it out vs the government in court for a decade or two. Who could afford that?

The fourth amendment protects against illegal seizures, assuming the Supreme Court reads the plain text.
