They certainly wanted to believe it, so it doesn’t serve their interest to debunk it to be sure.
You can tell they are defensive since he was specifically targeting Christians for the head shots, not just inquiring about the victims’ religion.
Why is this news?
Chicago statistics show that in the last two weeks 60 people were shot and about 10 murdered. This beats the Umpqua shooting by legions.
Chicago on a weekly basis has something like 25 people shot and at least 5 people killed every week.
That means that on an annual basis a minimum of 1200 people are shot and 240 people murdered. Compared to this Umpqua does not even blip on the radar. Keep in mind that Chicago is a gun free zone and people are being slaughtered by the hundreds. Could there be something wrong with gun free zones.
These statistics are a hundred fold worse than this Umpqua scene. Nothing is done about Chicago but the Obama press makes a big deal out of this.
