I believe it started out as an image hosting site with a message board format. There are several sub-forums that people can post to according to different interests or topics (e.g. politics, fitness, etc.) Would highly recommend reading the Wikipedia article about it instead of visiting the site itself if you want to learn more about it.

LOL. Great definition. Thanks. I’ll pass. I did see the one thread about the Oregon shooting and some revolting advice from others.
The “ylyl” threads are occasionally funny. Just about everything else is awful, like the beheading/torture video threads, etc.
Maybe if someone takes one course they treat them as an part time student for several years. Or they offer short form enrichment courses and count them.
