A refugee riot puts a German town on edge

This German town renowned for its rococo palace threw open its doors to arriving waves of refugees. Donations from clothing drives filled four garages. The volunteer fire department pitched in to build a tent city at the local airport that now teems with 1,400 migrants.

But like other Germans in a country that has rolled out the welcome mat for Europe’s largest wave of asylum-seekers since World War II, residents here are now having second thoughts.

Buckshot, you do not know the German people. I've lived there for several years. Other than their inability to queue in line, they cannot wait for new laws so they can immediately follow them.

They just love following laws. They will stand on a street corner, with absolutely no traffic, until the traffic light says that they may cross.

I lived there for a few years and I couldn’t believe their restraint and frequent timidity. I’ve seen two German men in arguments, screaming and spitting at one another for several minutes and ne’er a punch thrown.
