I live and work in Roseburg. Had a client just took a job at UCC in the nursing program, just moved from Colorado. She called me to say she was Ok. I agree with you, most likely a 20's something white male on drugs. There are so many unemployed college age white males in this town almost all on some assistance and on drugs, due to the timber industry being virtually dead. Our number one export? our children, the ones who make it out.

We have a VA hospital so our population is many veterans who move here for the hospital, and retirees. It is a very friendly community, 90+% white and beautiful with the Umpqua river running through it.

Such a sad day for our community. I just took my wife to Mercy Rehab for some post operation therapy and everyone was very somber and quiet, watching the news. You could hear a pin drop as they say. My daughter is very concerned about one of her former volunteers at Mercy who she can’t contact and neither can her friends. The girl is a nursing student at UCC.
