A local mom is going viral over a big decision to give her teenager hormones to transition into a female. The video is being shared millions of times on Facebook tonight and now Erica Maison is talking about her decision.
Anticipation and excitement was on display as the 14-year-old New Baltimore girl opened a hidden box from her mother. It wasn't jewelry or concert tickets.
"Do you know what that is?" Erica asked, as Corey smiles and moves toward mom for a tearful hug.
Corey's mom surprised her with her first dose of hormones, something the transgendered teen has waited to get for three years. Erica wanted to capture the emotional moment.

"I just started crying," Erica says.
"I opened it, I read the top and it said 'estrogen, Corey says. “I stopped and froze for a second. I was so happy I started crying."
"It was such a relief," Erica says. "It had been so many years waiting."
It hasn't been easy for Corey who was born a boy and feels she spent the first decade of her life living in someone else's body. The signs started young.
"My second birthday I got a truck, my sister got a Barbie doll and I wanted nothing to do with the truck," Corey remembers.
"[Corey would] dress up in my heels and dresses," Erica says. "All little boys do that, that is a phase usually. As Corey gets to be 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 years old, it didn't stop."
My two brothers are Leftists. One younger than I and one older. The younger one has made some really bad choices in his life. Yes, it was about 30 years ago, the older one said to me ‘well, we can’t JUDGE him’. I said ‘Why not? Maybe if we did he wouldn’t make such stupid decisions’. This era was the start of abdication of responsibility. Judging (or simply not accepting) stupid or destructive behavior used to be the norm. Look where all that political correctness got us.
Thirty years ago or so, many kids were (sometimes) needlessly sent to tutors or therapists or put on Prozac to “keep up” with the other families on the block, because Little Billy was diagnosed as ADD/ADHD or allergic to wheat, etc. Now the current “in” thing is “gender reassignment” or “correction”. Monkey see, monkey do.

When my son was little, he had several GI Joe, Spider-Man, Batman toys.
One day I told him to put away the “dolls” and get ready for bed.
The response: “Mom! They’re not dolls! They’re action figures!”
If it's someone else's body, maybe Corey should give it back instead of trying to damage it.

Yes, the same. I understand her mother is a screamer (”No more wire hangers!”), and it seems to me her parents have made some poor career choices for her.
That said, Jackie at 15 also appears to have a mind of her own — teenagers know everything, adults nothing — and her folks have given her a good bit of free rein, particularly as regards making the pro-transsexual video, and then holding a “Be You” contest & awarding a prize to, drum roll, a tranny.
Time will tell what effect all this will have on album sales and ticket sales for her concerts. Nonetheless, all of it odd for a Roman Catholic family that, from other appearances, looked to be more conservative.
I sincerely doubt HE remembers his second birthday.
Transgenders’ complain that if they don’t get the hormones soon enough, they’ll get the physical changes they don’t want. One said he didn’t want his jaw to grow big. I have no idea if getting the opposite sex’s hormones stops normal physical maturation, but that’s what they’re hoping.

I used to play with my brothers toys, simply because I found his stuff far more interesting.
You know in pre-Victorian days in Britain, many people used to dress their boys in dresses, sometimes up until the age of five. It was rather fashionable to do so.
I agree there seems to be a war on boys, they’re doing their best to make all men Metrosexual, all this shaving their body hair is a good example. In my opinion very bizarre, to want men all smooth like either young boys or girls.
I think this thing used to be known as being a Tomboy, and nothing was thought of it. Tomboy girls used to very often grow out of it.
Now with the “Agenda” Tomboy girls are immediately labelled as “girl trapped in boys body, transgender time, get them on the hormone pills”
It’s exceptionally alarming. This is where things are since the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender crowd have gooten their “Agenda” legalised, they themselves display symptoms of mental illness.
This is the end result of homosexual men setting the standards for beauty in our culture.
Female fashion models starve themselves to look like the prepubescent boys the homosexual men want.
And now they openly hold up androgynous gender-benders as the standard of beauty and behavior. Like back in 2012, when the gay fashion designer has Andrej Pejic, a man who was at the time transitioning to female, walking the catwalk wearing wedding dresses - as if that was the standard WOMEN were to aspire to, and as if that would SELL wedding dresses.
I agree, it’s perverse and I don’t know how or why we’ve even allowed them to get to dictate these rules and standards.
I fear that they haven’t finished yet taking us down the slippery slope.

Then we have the whole bathroom dilemma, even kindergartens are now told to introduce Gender Neutral bathrooms.
There’s no gender apparently, no boy no girl, that would be sexist, so it’s just one sex.
Absurd, there are many fundamental differences between males and females....these people are so messed up, now they want to start messing other people up from kindergarten age, soon it’ll be pre-kindergarten age.
Now midwives can’t say “pregnant women” in case they offend “transgendering fathers”....the photograph of the transgendering Trevor McDonald, ‘um “breastfeeding” sitting next to smiling Doctor is totally bizarre.
Trevor they say has “given birth” to two children since he transgendered and is now expecting a third. I’m sorry but ONLY a BIOLOGICAL WOMAN can give birth.
