Romney: Trump won't be GOP nominee
Politico ^ | 9/30/15 | ELIZA COLLINS

Mitt Romney says he’ll support whoever the Republican candidate is, but he’s not going to go out and order a Make America Great Again hat anytime soon.

“I will support the Republican nominee. I don’t think that’s going to be Donald Trump,” the GOP's 2012 candidate said. “My party has historically nominated someone who's a mainstream conservative.”

“Every time Ann tightens her apron strings, Mitt’s lower jaw drops open.

LOL, clever and funny.

I believe the GOPe strategy is to keep the supporters of the other candidates from switching to Trump when the candidate drops out. Hence the nonstop vitriol.

Romeny, reading the political winds for three years now, since he lost us the last big election.

Hmmm, before that he also read in those winds that he could be president.

What a sage...

Mitt “Mr. Choke” Romney should question his own assessment of the GOP front runner, and go back and do some soul searching. Romney hit grand slam home runs during his 1st debate against 0Bamma to merely take the fall in the 2nd and 3rd debates. His credibility and leadership factor died immediately, and Republican voters stayed home on election day. He has no business criticizing anyone other than himself.

Well, that pretty much settles it. This Romney prediction has just confirmed to me that Trump will be the Republican nominee!

Why I support Trump in 2016...a few reasons:

1. 100% self funded....no rich donors demanding to expand H1-B visa’s for cheap labor express, and allow export of factories to foreign lands which takes away middle class jobs.

2. Better name recognition than any other candidate running except perhaps Bush.

3. Fearless! Not afraid to confront any adversary or the media.

4. Only candidate using the word “DEPORT” in his campaign.

5. Only candidate who has actually built WALLS before.

6. Willing to sacrifice his $400 million income for $0.4 million salary of president, which he will donate to US Treasury.

7. Willing to take a huge hit due to proposed income tax rates in order to HELP middle & lower income achieve UPWARD MOBILITY and hopefully get off dependence on government handouts.

8. Not a necon, unlike Bush & Rubio who are itching to fight more wars in the middle-east, on credit card, and get paid nothing!

9. Only candidate who wants to stop China & others from UNFAIR trading practices resulting in humongous trade deficits every year. These deficits have consequences, as foreigners own more and more of USA.

Mitt flunks on all (9).

Nice hope, but don't forget Mitt got in trouble for the "self-deport" remark. Just about every difference you list is a style difference and not an issue difference.

Nonetheless, I am resigned to the fact that Trump, while nowhere near the best candidate, may very well be the best this country deserves at this time.

The reason Romney believes that is the reason he lost the election.

That sums it up nicely. Timing is everything. It is usually best what you can get now instead of waiting for ever for the most ideal.
