In lieu of a government shutdown to defund Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, or the disastrous Iran deal, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is opting to shutdown Ted Cruz.
Case in point, the latest Politico article in which the Leader takes credit for muscling his entire operation--enlisting scores of aides and fellow senators---to quietly and methodically... quarantine the senator from Texas. McConnells cheerleaders will tell you its good politics. Well, how is that working out for them? Lets take a look. 72 percent of Republican primary voters are dissatisfied with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's ability to achieve GOP goals according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Meanwhile, Cruz is posting impressive fundraising numbers, whipping presidential candidates aligned with McConnell, rolling out endorsements, and winning straw poll after straw poll.
Now answer me this. Could Mitch McConnell win any poll among GOP primary voters today? Not even if he was pitted up against a bowl of soup.

I have said that I know there are rules in the House and Senate, but McConnell runs the risk of slouching into the one thing that Americans love dearly...freedom of speech.
How long will that JustashatefulasReid McConnell be able to defend his actions.
How did this guy get to be majority leader? Was he brilliant at one time?
If so, I hope Cruz has a KO in the first round!
F Pinky McConnell.
McConnell definitely needs to be replaced, but by whom? Except for a small few, all the Republicans seem to be “go along to get along” good ole boys who just want to get reelected.
Who cares, she ran as a Conservative. She is now a Mitch Bitch. She is his attack dog against Conservatives, specificly Ted Cruz.
It would be better to throw her sorry ass to the curb even if a rat gets elected. As another example of what happens to liars and frauds that run as one thing and govern as something different. As it is, she provides NOTHING positive to the Conservative/Republican party platform. She is the cat's meow to the RINOS ruling the Party...
We can’t have that the democrat KY governor might nominate a democrat to take McWeasals place! Why the world would end, we might lost control of the senate. Democrats might rule instead of the battling conservative turtleman!
Come on TBP think of the Republican Freepers still on the plantation and content to being lied to, be nice...
Ditch Mitch!
Speaking for myself, I would rather vote for a Democrat over a RINO.
