Story is from August, but seemed relevant again. Perhaps it is what's behind Trump's "bimbo" comment...

“Gutfeld told me that Fox News was kind of like high school but without the jocks.”
Wow, no jocks? Everyone there must be stoned!

"Anyway, in 2012 an adviser to Roger Ailes told me that Megyn Kelly and Brit Hume were having an affair. In 2014 a crisis PR official based in New York & hired by News Corp told me the same thing. The adviser said that Ailes told Kelly that she had to cancel the affair with Hume and that if she did shed be the new face of Fox and step in for OReilly. I dismissed these rumors at the time but the Daily Kos wrote about the rumors surrounding Kelly and Hume in 2007 and later Kelly did step in for OReilly and has risen through the ranksjust as my source predicted. Kelly, in an interview with Howard Stern (yes, really), said she nearly didnt get the job but that Ailes stepped in on her behalf."
So Ailes just TOLD this guy? Plus another NAMED source did the same thing??? THIS SMELLS. I'm NOT defending anyone here..just question the chain of evidence if you will.

Have you seen her husband? He’s a major hottie! Brit’s not bad either, but he’s getting up there, so I don’t believe this crap.

I have no reason what so ever to dis-believe this story. It appears to me that the real brains at FOX are one channel down (At least on DirecTV.) at FOX Business News. Even there the bimbos, Affirmative Action hires and frat boys have to be rooted past to get to the real information and news.

Here's what's really behind this story:
Some people, like yours truly, are blacklisted from being mentioned on air even though it is perfectly OK to steal our content and pretend your research division found it (especially if youre Bill OReilly).
Bitter much?
As for Trump, a much simpler explanation for the Trump-Kelly contretemps is that Trump is a whining, petulant brat whose feelings got hurt.

I don’t know if the rumor is true or not, but whether her husband is a “hottie” or not has little to do with it. Status trumps looks (no pun intended) almost always, especially in a social climber like Kelly.

I don't necessarily put a lot of faith in Johnson's reporting, but I put even less in Gawker's. Maybe the worst liberal trash site on the web.
I believe Conservative Treehouse may have some posts about Johnson's lack of integrity, if you want a more credible source.

Nothing ad hominem about it — I simply call ‘em as I see ‘em.

Yeah.... Its called “sleeping her way to the top.” Interesting that Ailes was telling her to stop having the affair with Brit. Inquiring minds want to know why????

I don’t disagree about Gawker but the fact that Johnson is prone to printing stories that turn out to be false is a fact.

Ha! One channel down on my cable is MSNBC!

George W. Bush got slammed for not fighting back to protect his reputation. He let his enemies define him for eight years.
And now Donald Trump is getting slammed for what, fighting back too hard against attacks?
Where is the happy middle ground?

The adviser said that Ailes told Kelly that she had to cancel the affair with Hume and that if she did shed be the new face of Fox and step in for OReilly. So Hume wasn't told to "cancel" the affair?
Sounds like something a Russian trying to sound American would say.
