Do you think Assad could govern in a tolerant and enlightened manner over a society of savages bent on head chopping and eating the organs of their ideological enemies?
Our form of government doesn’t work with a society of savages, IMO.
Assad is no different from the people he governs. The Syrians have never lived under a democratic form of government.
