Russia has stated, repeatedly and clearly, their mission is to support Assad and his his government against all factions...inclusive of ISIS.

The US should just back off a bit, keep forces in the area, and see what happens.

The goal of any SANE Potus in this situation would be STABILITY and Law and Order. This would stem the flow of refugees and allow those now in Europe to return home.

It also places state actors in the seat of any fire that comes across the Golan.

What I cannot understand is why Putin is taking this action when it so closely parallels US and Israeli interests.

US shouldn’t be there to begin with...their soul purpose is using whatever group will rid the nation of Assad....at this point most fighting there are ‘ALL’ terrorists.....the New Syrian Army has left long ago.....Russia’s simply clearing the deck of this scum there...and needs to.
