Will Latinos become Republicans? Not if it depends on being religious.
Washington Post ^ | 09/29/2015 | By Sarah Allen Gershon, Adrian D. Pantoja and J. Benjamin Taylor

As far back as Ronald Reagan, politicians have been urging Latinos — who historically have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats — to move over to the Republican Party. The idea has been that, putting questions of immigration aside, Latinos as a whole are conservative about hard work, family values, and religious dedication, which Republicans generally consider to be “their” values.

But do they stay that way once they are in the U.S.? If the Republicans continue being the party of strict borders, English-only, and deportation, they’re unlikely to get the first generation to become Republican voters. And like other immigrant groups, Latinos become more Americanized — secularized — with each generation.

In debating why, political science has had two main theories: modernization theory, which suggests that those who come from less developed countries become more secular with each passing generation, and existential security theory, which predicts that when people are more economically secure, they no longer turn to church or religion for reinforcement.

In our forthcoming Politics & Religion paper we tested these theories.

Using data from the 2006 Latino National Survey, we found that, indeed, each generation of Latinos is less religious, which would support the modernization theory. But we also found that the more economically secure the individuals were — i.e., if they had jobs — they became less likely to go to church regularly.

Scuse Me! That's baloney!

What causes it is that they came from places where you have authoritarian or outright malevolent governments so they are all sheeple...Government created drones in terms of their well being.

The Republican party, according to the democrat media, is uncaring, and trying to destroy the goodness of government to whom these new immigrants owe their loyalty..(or so they think)

The end result is....Democrats....good

Republicans....bad

If we send them home we don’t need to worry about how they vote.

Just found this;

Kennedy spoke briefly about foreign policy in Latin America and the importance of LULAC. The first lady told the crowd in Spanish that Texas had a deep history with Latinos. The crowd responded with chants of “Viva Kennedy!” A band played a ballad in Spanish as photographers took photos of the Kennedys and Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson and his wife, Lady Bird Johnson.

Before that moment, historians believe that no president had ever acknowledged Latinos as a voting bloc, said Emilio Zamora, a historian at the University of Texas at Austin.

President William Taft, who served from 1909-1913, may have met with a tiny group of Latino activists in El Paso, Texas, Zamora said. President Dwight D. Eisenhower likely shock hands with some Mexican-American voters in a campaign visit to South Texas in 1952. “But I think no president had ever publically thanked Mexican-Americans in that manner,” said Zamora.

Fifteen hours after the historic meeting, Kennedy was dead.

Facts:

1) Except in the very odd/exceptional election year of 1964, the Dems haven’t cracked 50% of the whites in a Presidential election since 1932.

2) Once the ‘64 election was over, the Dems understood that they would never win another Presidential election again unless the Republicans REALLY screwed up...or unless they changed the electorate in a dramatic way.

3) The Dems, courtesy of Bobby Kennedy who wrote the law, and Teddy Kennedy who pushed it in the Senate, passed the 1965 Immigration Act. That law dramatically reduced immigration from our then-traditional large sources of immigrants - England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, etc. - and replaced them with vast numbers of Turd Worlders...whom everyone knows vote around 80% for Dems, and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives, as new immigrants have traditionally done.

4) As a result of the ‘65 Act, and due to the Dem’s outright lying in ‘86 regarding an effective (or any) fence, there are now probably 30 - 40 million illegals in this nation. Note that the (probably low-ball) figure in 2005 was 11 million...we have 2-3 million come in every year, so simple math says that the number is actually somewhere between 31 and 41 million). If any substantial portion of these people ever become citizens, then the Dems will have accomplished a complete shift of the electorate, and will be virtually invincible on the national level. Every state will become like California, both politically and economically - which is to say, overwhelming Dem and broke. But at least if you don’t like California now, you can leave for a better place without much trouble - where are you going to go if EVERY state is like that?

5) Every Republican, and every Conservative voter MUST UNDERSTAND that if such a state of affairs comes to be, NO OTHER ISSUE WILL MATTER AT ALL, because we will ALWAYS AND FOREVER lose on those issues. Immigration is THE issue of this election, and this election is as critical as the 1860 election was - and for the same reason, because it will determine whether this nation continues on as it has existed in the past, or becomes a new and unrecognizable entity that simply occupies the same geographic territory.

Please wake up, and help others to do so by sending them this post (or recommending “Adios America” to them). It really is THAT important.

This theory takes God Himself completely out of the equation. God will do as He pleases. He can change a heart and a nation in a moments time.

The left does not believe America is (was) exceptional because they don’t understand how rare America was in a world filled with oppressive governments. Now they are trying to diminish the very culture that made America great by importing millions of people who do not share uniquely American values of individual liberty, self reliance, religious freedom, etc. If they succeed, America will literally be no different than any other nation on Earth, and this rare experiment in self governance will fail. The very things that make America so desirable for so many immigrants will cease to exist should those people immigrate here in sufficient numbers to change the culture.

Latinos/Hispanics aren’t a monolithic group any more than are caucasions.

I know some hispanics whose families have been here for several generations and they are much different in almost every respect than many of the recent immigrants I come in contact with.

Legal immigration has had far more influence in changing the demographics and electoral politics of this country. Every year we bring in 1.1 million legal permanent immigrants a year, 87% of whom are minorities as defined by the USG. We have brought in 35 million legal permanent immigrants since 1990. We have just had the two highest decades of legal immigration in our history.

This doesn't include the 300,000 to 400,000 children born to illegal aliens annually. These children are US citizens at birth.

Latinos/Hispanics vote more than two to one Dem. In 2012 Obama got 71% of their vote. Asians voted 73% for Obama.

Yes, because By Their Father Below, Democrats will do everything they can to destroy the hated Christianity in this country.
