In the local area, Israel is far, far stronger than Russia. All that Russia could do to Israel if push came to shove would be to nuke them - there are no other significant forces close by. Oh, and such wouldn’t go unanswered, so it is highly unlikely. Russia is definitely NOT the Soviet Union in terms of sheer numbers and strategic reach for conventional forces.
Truth be told, the chances of an altercation are pretty low - so long as the Russkies stick to attacking Syrian enemies of Assad.
