President Obama's plan to "internationalize" the Internet may be unconstitutional, key members of Congress are claiming.
The group of lawmakers sent a letter to the Government Accountability Office last week, saying the plan to relinquish oversight of Internet domain name functions to a global, multi-stakeholder body raised questions about the administration's "authority to transfer possession and control of critical components of the Internet's infrastructure to a third party."
The letter was signed by the chairmen of both congressional judiciary committees, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va; presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif. Issa is also a former chairman of the House Oversight Committee.
The lawmakers point out that the Constitution says "Congress has the exclusive power 'to dispose of and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the United States.'"

It is constitutional, since the Obama Admin simply needs to make the case that it isn’t a needful rule or regulation.
Not if Barry has his way with the Constitution as he’s been doing. He and his friends are bound and determined to destroy what’s left of our country.
DO, complain not.
And they will do absolutely nothing to stop Obama for fear of the NYTimes calling them bad names and harming the GOP brand. (The brand that SUCKS.)
Alternatively, the GOP will squeal a bit, conspire to give Obama what he wants, and then stand before microphones denouncing the president's actions and stating there was nothing they could do to stop him.
As if that makes a difference anymore...
All the while Obama is also scheming on ways around Congress on Global Warming and Syria.
Congress better elect a strong leader, not Boehner #2.
Can we stop calling them “lawmakers” until they go back to making laws?
Writing letters and filing lawsuits does not qualify as being a “lawmaker”. Try passing laws to stop Obama (i.e. clarify a law which he is using with mis-regulation), or impeaching him. That’s the job of Congress - not making public complaints or asking the courts to stop the big meanie who’s taking their power.
You forgot the part about “dispose of” which always implies in whole or part.
But sounds like you’re working hard to become a good little Marxist. Isn’t it a little late to be vying for a slot in the Obama Administration?
My remark was sarcastically ironic.
Ok.
