I don’t see the Green Revolution as having had a chance, the mullahs in power would have slaughtered them. Not that that would have slowed Barky down if he really wanted to try overthrowing them.
It was not orchestrated from external forces from what I could tell. Heck, the kids in Iran vastly outnumber the older generations, they weren’t even asking for much. Maybe if they would have listed gay rights as a grievance the U.S. would have at least criticized their murder.
