I guess it all depends on when they decided to pull this; likely a lot of elite runners would just drop out rather than deal with it; local semi-pros would likely just run through the protesters.

I've seen this happen once, but on a much smaller scale; protesters later attempted to sue organizers for injuries, but the court (sanely) stated that since the protesters entered a controlled course, they were instead liable for any claims of injuries from the runners - the suit was dropped quickly.

Myself, you pull that on me when I'm a half mile from the finish line, I will continue on my course, and you will go down. Wonder if Marathonfoto can station some photographers there for some good action shots on the course?

This is just another form of terrorism.

These guys are acting out trying to intimidate others.

They should be seen for what they are and should be removed from society if that’s what it takes to wake them up.

I don’t like having to take a 5 to 7 mile detour to get to church several times a year. Now, if they’d go block off access to the malls the Friday after Thanksgiving, I wouldn’t have any problem with them. Or how about running past the Synagogue on Friday, the Mosque on Thursday, or the SDA church on Saturday, instead.

Or give them an incentive to go fast - how about a run through the ‘hood late Saturday night.
