Taliban capture key Afghan provincial capital Kunduz

The Taliban have captured Kunduz in northern Afghanistan, taking government buildings and the city’s central prison in one of the biggest military victories for the movement since 2001. It is the most serious invasion of a provincial capital in 14 years.

Obama has both the Taliban and ISIS on the run. Unfortunately, they are running towards their objectives, not away from them.

The Germans left in 2013. I believe the area was entirely turned over to Afghan security forces.

We’ve essentially sent an economic and social development team armed with guns they’re not allowed to use. The other side is allowed to torture and kill. We’re just there to provide targets. Patton would roll over in his grave.

Interesting- when posted on social media the headline comes up as “Taliban Attempt to Capture...” but if clicked on you get your headline. Is it normal for newspapers to put sugar on news headlines so as to not startle social media users?
