Carly is finished. The next debate will not be her strength. It’s economics and there’s no way she comes out of that looking good. The last debate was all about Trump’s ‘face’ comment. It was just a false construct to weave the narrative.

Morning consult played with the numbers in the narrative as well. While they are generally fair to Trump, they did a month end August/Sept comparison that showed a net Trump decrease and a net Carson increase. All true, however Carson is also polling right now below his high, so you can make the same argument that Carson is falling.

I’m all in for Trump, but there has been a slight drop off in his polling. He’s had a brutal 2 weeks starting with the Rolling Stone article, then the debate shilling for Carly and Marco Amnestio. Then the Islam plant in NH and the all out assault by the GOPe and the media. But if you notice, nobody is really gaining on him either. Slight drop off for Trump and a coalescence around some others. Trumps’ still good. Next 30 days are critical but controllable as economics are his thing.

As far as Trump’s “face” comment, I doubt very much that what he meant to imply was that she was “ugly”. She’s not particularly ugly. But that’s the righteous spin both she and the Trump-haters wanted to put on it, for obvious reasons. What I believe he meant was that her demeanor was humorless, stern, not ready for prime time. He’s right about that, and I think she and/or her advisors have already sought to correct that by having her appear with Jimmy Fallon, singing a silly nonsense song. Even if Trump had meant it the other way, he wouldn’t have lost any appreciable support because of it.

I think Trump has finally peaked. I was all in for him, but he lost me with the endless personal attacks. Simply foolish on his part. Attack on substance, not personal stuff. I give credit to The Donald, he rumbles on without a teleprompter and speaks his mind, backlash be damned. But that same tendency to shoot from the lip will be his eventual undoing.

Carly plays the game with the big boys very well, she is always in control of her emotions, always looking at the angles and always ready with the proper fact or sound byte to meet the need at the moment. She is precise and succinct.

I'm not counting Carson out, nor Cruz. I hope Marco and Jeb fold their tents and slip away into the night. They're cut from the same cloth. The others who're polling way down and take the other stage for the debates need to go soon, too. Perry and Walker had the right idea.
