There is a point of contention regarding the interpretation of the Twelfth Amendment as it relates to the Twenty-second Amendment, ratified in 1951, which prohibits a person from being “elected” President more than twice.
While it is clear that under the Twelfth Amendment the original constitutional qualifications of age, citizenship, and residency apply to both the President and Vice President, it is unclear whether a two-term president could later serve as Vice President. The GOP has used this tired line in the last 6 elections, and EVERY time they are given majorities, they do nothing with it, other than cede power to the Left. The GOP can go to Hell. I'll vote ONLY for a candidate that talks the talk and HAS WALKED THE WALK. Walker is gone. That leaves Cruz.
(Trump is a wildcard, but one that I MIGHT vote for, if only because he is likely to rip the GOP leadership to shreds and possibly form a new party after tiring of their stupidities.)
Im my heart, the GOP gets the same treatment as unions. Anything that tears down their power and leadership is a good thing. No money for them, but plenty of time and money and effort to those who hate them as much as I do.
If Schoen or especially Pat Caddell had said this, maybe I’d really believe it. Trippi - I think there’s a lot of wiggle room in his pronouncements. He’s not impressed me so much lately.
