I doubt any of this would have been public had not Judicial Watch filed law suits and demanded documentation, with a judge agreeing and ruling in favor of turning the emails over.

Had they gone with a Special Prosecutor none of this would be public today. I also find it strange the FBI is releasing information when it has withheld it in the past.

The whole thing is just plain lawlessness!

The law is explicit on the handling of both official and classified material and data.

You and I know this as part of our government service.

We also know that rank has no privilege when it comes to the law. In fact, one could argue that the higher the rank, the greater the responsibility and duty of the person.

We know that an Airmen or a junior embassy staffer would face charges, which include prison, for violating such laws.

These laws are the same for the SES, flag officer or cabinet member. However, the law is not being applied against Hillary Clinton.

The government is operating outside the law, and therefore it is lawless.

I do not understand why Congress is abrogating their responsibility by not issuing subpoenas and if need be, contempt of Congress proceedings.

At best, perhaps they think it would be opposed by the democrats/media as political persecution, which means they’re shirking their duty in fearfulness, or, at worst, the Republican leadership in Congress is in on the lawlessness.

Whatever the case may be, it is a horrible miscarriage of Justice and sets another huge nail in the coffin they’re making for America, RIP.

JW had a lot to do with it as well as the Benghazi committee. If Obama wants to clear the way for Biden, all he has to do is let the FBI and DOJ follow the law. The only fly in the ointment is that some of these emails could link the WH directly to the phony story of video being the cause of the attack.

They have Kasich on, and Cruz has a RCP poll average twice as much. Cruz is 6th in RCP polling but people much lower in polls have appeared on the shows...

I agree. This is a major test of our government and the Rule of Law. If Hillary is given a pass, then we are in deep trouble as a nation. There has always been a divide between those above the law and those who must obey it, but this is so blatant and so public, it can't be hidden.

Hillary should have already been indicted along with her aides, Sullivan, Abedin, and Mills.

Agreed but one thing must also then be discussed.

If the political elites are blatantly outside the law and fully lawless, then where is the moral obligation for the rest of us—or any of us, to continue to obey they law?

In other words, if they can get away with it, so can we.

And if this holds to be so, then we are finished as the (classical) liberal state of all time, and Jefferson’s words are on the ash heap of history.

I do not know what then will become of America. The elites no doubt will be outraged if we attempt to be as lawless as them, which they no doubt consider it their privilege to do, but not ours, and will use force to compel us to obey.

I will not. I know many more that will not. It is a time and thinking like this that sows rebellions and revolutions. The elites cannot guarantee they will win.

A wise elite would consider allowing Hillary to get away with lawlessness a bridge too far and withdraw, forcing the law to prevail.

My fear, aside from what I’ve already addressed, is that their are no wise elites.

Maybe Trump. May he win!

actually the fact that the elite are above the law could well be the reason for the massive outrage by citizenry and the immense popularity of trump.People are sick and tired of the status quo.they want capitalistic change and a return to our constitution.

Just try it. Unfortunately, that is not the way it works. Life is unfair. And we don't control the levers of power.

We are certainly getting close. I see massive corruption within government, including from the career civil service who have decided to take sides. What is happening at the DOJ, IRS, EPA, etc. is very worrying. We have DOD altering intelligence to fit a political narrative. We have government funding of infanticide without outrage and passion from Congress and the WH. For the GOP-controlled Congress, it is a minor issue not worthy of forcing Obama to shut down the government.

I will not. I know many more that will not. It is a time and thinking like this that sows rebellions and revolutions. The elites cannot guarantee they will win.

This happened before in our history in 1776.

One would think that Obamacare, the two Obama executive amnesties, a rogue, partisan IRS, a SCOTUS that legislates from the bench, an out of control EPA, etc, would trigger a major reaction. The elites have suffered no consequences for their lawlessness. There are no bridges too far.

It is worth a shot. Things can't get much worse with him. The prospect of a Hillary or Jeb or Rubio is frightening.
