The problem with Boehner is that he actually didn’t know how to do his job. People criticize him for not getting through a more conservative agenda, but the reality is that he didn’t have the capacity to work out compromises and trade-offs. He thought surrendering to the Dems was negotiation.

I don’t know that he was actually surrendering, Harry Reid couldn’t have done a better job of furthering Hussein’s agenda, and he’s an avowed Democrat.

Yeah, compromise is fine but you have to enter negotiations thinking about how much you can gain rather than how much you can afford to lose.
