The essence of the problem, they consider themselves rulers of the people rather than protectors of the free republic.....
The GOPe crowd has no desire to govern. They don't want to make hard choices on the allocation of scarce resources to effect the public good.
They have abdicated governance to the social democrats and only ask in return their cut on the deal. Having become a majority, they can hold out for a high ransome indeed.
