I agree.
No one is going to miss Boehner. People just despise the man and to many conservatives he’s the symbol of all that’s wrong with the GOP Congress and represented the rot infesting Washington.
For man with great promise, he quickly became a captive of and a custodian of the very system he promised to fight.
And quite frankly, people are sick of the GOP leadership capitulating to the Democrats they first chance they get.
For our sakes, they all need to go! Boehner’s leaving Washington isn’t sufficient; the place needs a complete fumigation and none too soon.

He squandered historic House majorities. He could have led in being the bulwark against the lawlessness and liberalism of the ruling democrats. Instead, he became the facilitator and enabler for the the democrat agenda to get past the House. He could have been the rallying voice to maintain and grow the conservative tide, instead he was a leading factor in taking a lot of the steam out of that speeding conservative train.
The democrats are probably scrambling to find another liberal to become the next speaker. With Boehner, Barry could not have asked for a better republican House speaker.

I cannot think of one difference between his leading the House and McConnell leading the Senate as when Pelosi and Reid led the same.

The big question is why now? Who had enough dirt on the orange man to make him resign?
Or, are the rumors right that the other side had the dirt, which explains Boehner’s duplicity, and the good guys just discovered it and called him out?
We’ll probably never know, but hopefully Mitch is next.

As a leader, Boehners strategy is usually completely reactive. Its like he reluctantly gets in the ring with the Democrats, leads with his face and hopes that the Democrats will defeat him quickly so he can turn around and yell at the people who insisted he fight for something in the first place. The money quote summarizing four and half years of piss-poor leadership. He was simply unfit for the job on day 1.
