Hey there Ms.Behavin! Been a while, I know. Nice to see you, too!
When I saw your ping about Glen, I immediately thought about Doug’s song and thought it an appropriate one to add to the music thread tonight. Hope you like it.

I’m impressed. Very professionally produced. I know the name Doug Bossi from somewhere, but I can’t place it.

LOL! It makes me cry every time I play it.
I’ll pass your thanks along to Doug. I’m sure he’ll appreciate knowing his music touched you, especially since you’ve worked with Alzheimer’s patients for so long and lost a loved one to it. You’re one of the folks he wrote it for. :-)

More from the Jimmy Webb songbook. Webb's own version is more contemplative, but this is well produced.

ROCKUMENTARY: SEPTEMBER 26, 1958
#2: The Everly Brothers: Bird Dog
Although they were brothers, they didnt like each other all that much. Isaac Don Everly (b. 1937) was a Kentucky boy, but younger brother Phillip (1939-2014) was born in Chicago. They spent their childhoods in Iowa. Their dad, a guitar player, had a radio show in the mid-Forties with his wife and sons, labeled the Everly Family. They moved to Tennessee in 1953.
The brothers caught the attention of family friend Chet Atkins, manager of RCA's Nashville studio and later a country music giant. Despite working for RCA, Atkins arranged for the brothers to record for Columbia in 1956. Their first single flopped, and Mitch Miller dropped them from the roster.
Chet introduced them to Wesley Rose of Acuff-Rose Music, who told them he would get them a recording contract if they signed with him as songwriters. They did, and in 1957 Rose introduced them to Archie Bleyer, who was looking for artists for his Cadence label. The brothers signed and recorded Bye Bye Love, written by Felice and Bourdleaux Bryant, a song that had been rejected by thirty other acts. It won them a Gold Record.
Working with the Bryants, they had hit after hit. They were elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
