Former Gov. Jeb Bush (R) pledged in South Carolina Thursday evening that he will earn victory in the Souths first presidential primary next year.
Im going to win South Carolina, take it to the bank, Bush told reporters, according to The Charleston Post and Courier. His boast came before a speech addressing the East Cooper Republican Womens group in Mount Pleasant.
Bush is making the Palmetto State a key focus of his 2016 Oval Office bid as he struggles for traction in the first voting states. He ranks sixth out of 15 candidates in Iowa with 5.3 percent and fifth in New Hampshire with 7.4 percent voter support, per the most recent RealClearPolitics mean of surveys.

I'm a poll manager in South Carolina. WE do have the capacity to determine who voted in what primary.
We even have computers down here

I believe SC is an open primary and will draw many Democrats. I am sure the Mississippi precedent will be amplified for SC. The Democrat Fraud Machine will be working for Bush’s benefit in SC in SC.

Good to know. But isn’t it an open primary state? Is the GOP and Democrat Party far enough apart that it give you time to update and cross-check the records?

Bush only has to win 51% in each of 8 primaries to be the Nominee, no matter if he doesn't get any vote at all in any other primary. He will get those 8 in open primary states and in Northeastern states that will vote Democrat in the Election.
If, say Trump, has all those putative conservatives as his competition in the primaries he likely will not get majorities even as he wins large pluralities. If he gets majorities in the requisite 8 then he has to contend with the RNC controlled Superdelegates at the Convention.

What bank is that? the Left Bank of the Mississippi? Say what you will of Trump—at least he pulled the mask off Jeb Bush. I hope Trump wins it.

That is funny. I would like to give that out as gifts. I read that in England those have been outlawed in certain ways because it offends Muslims.

Jeb has reason for some optimism. After all, SC did elect the controversial Nikki Haley and McCain’s follower Lindsey Graham.

After watching the two debates, I truly think he needs to get out of the race.

“A big part of South Carolina’s primary problems can be traced to the fact that each party has separate primary days and low standards for who gets to vote in each.”
Whoa! I was not aware of this!

It may just happen. I am wondering if Trump can steal a march on Bush in those Deep Democrat states. It would be awesome if Bush failed to get the 8 primary majorities that the RNC is so sure of.
