Thanks for the ping. SU-30SM is an air superiority fighter. Not sure who they might be used against. SU-25SM is ground attack, and SU-24M2 is a bomber, both of which make sense.

This was probably to sort things out such as neither wants Russian jets and Israeli jets getting confused and firing at each other. Also I think Netanyahu would have shared what intelligence he has re. ISIS with Putin.

All I know ISIS needs to be taken out, the sooner the better.

I think Russia has bigger plans beyond Syria. Helping Iran defend against an Israeli attack is on the menu.

In that case, America and Russia would be fighting side-by-side for the first time since WWII.

Obama would definitely defend Iran.
