Hundreds of women called their local Planned Parenthood clinics Monday to schedule a mammogram, but none were able to successfully secure an appointment. Thats because the nations largest abortion provider doesnt actually offer them.
The phone calls were part of Schedule Your Mammogram Day, an event organized by And Then There Were None, a pro-life organization, to raise awareness of Planned Parenthoods deceptive claims on womens health.
The misconception that the nations largest abortion provider has been offering mammograms is a common claim, repeated by the media. During the Miss America competition last week, Miss Tennessee, Hannah Robinson, parroted one of Planned Parenthoods favorite talking points when answering a question about whether the $1 billion abortion corporation should lose some of its taxpayer subsidy. Robinson said:
The $500 million that gets given to Planned Parenthood every single year goes to female care. It goes to screening for cancer. It goes for mammograms. And if we dont give that funding to Planned Parenthood, those women will be out of health care for reproductive causes.
But in reality, there are 8,735 licensed mammography facilities in the United States, and Planned Parenthood operates none of them. The closest that the nations largest abortion provider gets to offering mammogram services is referring women to one of those other facilities.
While Planned Parenthood doesnt offer any mammograms, it performs more than 300,000 abortions each year and harvests the organs of aborted babies for sale. This practice is driving the debate surrounding whether to continue sending federal funds to Planned Parenthood to the tune of some $500 million each year.
Since pregnancy is not a disease, this disagreementisnt really about womens health, after all. Its really about whether the government will continue to funnel tax dollars to the nations largest abortion provider, whose officials have been caught on tape admitting that they are able and willing to alter abortion procedures to get more organs out of the babies without properly gaining consent from women.
That's the way it's done. Don't argue, just keep the spotlight on.
Why do you believe the story is bogus?
Why do you think that the story is bogus?
From the article: The phone calls were part of Schedule Your Mammogram Day, an event organized by And Then There Were None, a pro-life organization, to raise awareness of Planned Parenthoods deceptive claims on womens health.”
I don’t think the article claims that they were actually given appointments, but rather they forced PP’s hand and made them admit that they don’t provide mammograms.
Good. Mammograms harm more women than they help. Run some radiation through women’s breasts. That couldn’t possibly CAUSE cancer now, could it?
You are exactly right. But McConnell and Boehner feel guilty so they cave every time. But you are correct— it would be OBAMA THAT SHUTS DOWN the government so he can sell baby organs!!
