I went a step beyond boycotting and cancelled my Direct TV service. I was a loyal Fox watcher until after that first debate. I’m thinking of Hulu for my favorite dramas. Anyone else have a Hulu subscription?

Did away with DirectTV a couple of years ago and have been streaming only (no cable, no local TV antenna) since. Have Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime. Stream other programming directly from net. It is an adjustment, but we have never looked back. When I travel and stay in a hotel with satellite, I find that I am missing nothing out of the 200+ channels that are on. Any of the few shows we like are either on streaming live, directly after, or some point in time after. I can wait the few weeks, or even months to see the shows if necessary. Nothing on TV is that important, IMHO. Oh, and all my subscriptions combined cost maybe $25/mo vs. what I was paying for DirectTV.

Thanks R&B! I am sure I’ve done the right thing. I hadn’t heard of Amazon Prime but I’ll check that out. I think finally the day has come when TV choices have expanded to a pick and pack type alternative to cable and dish. Really looking forward to saving that monthly money. I had DIRECTV as part of a bundle with Internet and a landline but I’m getting rid of my landline too!
