Ted Cruz on Walker Drop-Out: ‘Holy Cow’
National Review ^ | September 21, 2015 | Joel Gehrke

Posted on 09/21/2015 8:08:20 PM PDT by Isara

Wisconsin governor Scott Walker’s reported decision to drop out of the Republican presidential primary shocked at least one rival.

“Holy cow,” Senator Ted Cruz (R., Texas) replied when he learned that Walker plans to end his bid for the White House. As recently as April, a Cruz ally was predicting that Walker would make a strong bid in the Texas primary. Walker led the field there in February.

The New York Times reports that Walker will make the announcement at a 6 p.m. news conference in Madison, Wics. “The short answer is money,” a Walker ally said explaining the decision. “He’s made a decision not to limp into Iowa.”

The Washington Post reported last week that Walker’s donors were getting nervous and wanted him to shake up his campaign staff. “Many backers have directed their ire at campaign manager Rick Wiley, who some Walker supporters believe expanded the staff too quickly and has failed to calibrate spending during the summer fundraising season,” according to the report. “A recent count put the number of full-time Walker campaign staff at around 90, and there have been no cutbacks in salaries as there were earlier this summer in former Florida governor Jeb Bush’s operation.”

Are you trying to imply that the Roman Catholic Church is the same as the Latter Day Saints?

Who?

ME???

Mormonism

  • claims itself to uniquely be "the Church"
  • claims a unique and authoritative priesthood, thereby denying the royal priesthood of all believers
  • adds to the Holy Bible (with the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price)
  • accepts multiple satanic visions as being from God
  • undermines the power of Jesus' blood by its view of personal suffering for the expiation of sins
  • sings praise songs about Joseph Smith, Jr.
  • has strange doctrines regarding marriage (polygamy accepted in early days)
  • believes in God the mother (who has conceived multitudes of spirit children)
  • claims the head of their group speaks infallibly at times
  • redefines "saint" to mean a living, breathing Mormon, instead of a bible-defined child of God

  • accepts and spreads "another gospel" (Gal. 1:8,9)- good works, water baptism and church membership
  • professes itself as Christian; Jesus as God, Savior, Lord and Son of God; Jesus' atoning death and resurrection
  • doctrines are sending millions to Hell and they need to be openly refuted with Scripture

Catholicism

  • claims itself to uniquely be "the Church"
  • claims a unique and authoritative priesthood, thereby denying the royal priesthood of all believers
  • adds to the Holy Bible (with sacred tradition)

  • accepts multiple satanic visions as being from God
  • undermines the power of Jesus' blood by its view of personal suffering for the expiation of sins
  • sings praise songs about Mary

  • has strange doctrines regarding marriage (celibacy still practiced among its clergy)
  • believes in the mother of God (who is the sinless Queen of Heaven)

  • claims the head of their group speaks infallibly at times
  • redefines "saint" to mean a physically dead Catholic who was afterwards "canonized," instead of a bible-defined child of God
  • accepts and spreads "another gospel" (Gal. 1:8,9) - good works, the sacraments, Mary and church membership
  • professes itself as Christian; Jesus as God, Savior, Lord and Son of God; Jesus' atoning death and resurrection
  • doctrines are sending hundreds of millions to Hell and they need to be openly refuted with Scripture
  • teaches and practices bowing before and kissing statues
  • WORSHIPS the consecrated communion wafer as God
  • claims Mary is their life, sweetness, hope and most gracious advocate (as revealed in the Rosary)
  • claims Mary was raised bodily into Heaven
  • claims they get to Jesus by first going to Mary

In 1871, John D. Lee came to the Paria area, fleeing investigators of the Mountain Meadows massacre.
He constructed a dam and irrigation ditches with the help of many locals and passersby, including members of John Wesley Powell's second Colorado River expedition.

As both its critics and its champions would probably agree, Roman Catholicism has been the decisive spiritual force in the history of Western civilization. There are more Roman Catholics in the world than there are believers of any other religious tradition--not merely more Roman Catholics than all other Christians combined, but more Roman Catholics than all Muslims or Buddhists or Hindus. The papacy is the oldest continuing absolute monarchy in the world. To millions the pope is the infallible interpreter of divine revelation and the Vicar of Christ; to others he is the fulfillment of the biblical prophecies about the coming of the Antichrist.

Joseph Smith gained a small following in the late 1820s.

and then there was Elsie

Broad is the way that leads to destruction...

Let's see if we can get elsie focused on Catholicism instead of Mormonism.
Maybe we can slink away in the following dustup.
