I’m reading their minds, and I’m reading their culture. They weren’t thinking of a muslim culture, but of a Judeo-Christian one.
Nonetheless, real muslims as a matter of faith advocate for the Islamic caliphate.

I’m uncomfortable with this reasoning, and anyone’s setting up a judgment regarding a “real Moslem” and all the implication of that. It reminds me of the discussion of John Kennedy’s Catholic faith. A “real Catholic,” people said, would put obedience to the Pope over the good of the United States. Kennedy responded, in effect, by saying he wasn’t a real Catholic, so it was nothing to worry about. (This was certainly borne out by his personal life.)
